Outrig Boatstop | Full-Time | On-Site
Outrig Boatstop is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to lead occupancy growth and revenue across our indoor and outdoor boat storage, private marina slip memberships, and boatstop units.
This is not a passive, order-taking role. We need someone who is proactive in the community, visible with local partners, and relentless in following up on opportunities. If you thrive on building real relationships, closing deals, and owning your market — this role was built for you.
What You’ll DoBuild and Own a Referral Partner Network
• Develop trust-based relationships with boat dealers, RV dealers, fishing guides, charter captains, bait shops, RV parks, and public marinas
• Position Outrig as the go-to storage and marina partner in the region
• Maintain ongoing partner relationships with regular check-ins, mutual value, and accountability
Drive Inbound Sales and Lead Conversion
• Own all inbound inquiries — phone, web, and walk-in — and convert them to closed agreements
• Maintain 95%+ live answer rate on inbound sales calls; availability beyond standard business hours is expected
• Conduct facility tours for prospective customers and close storage, slip, and boatstop agreements
• Maintain accurate lead tracking in CRM and report pipeline status and conversion rates weekly
Monitor Competitors and the Local Market
• Conduct regular audits of competitor pricing, promotions, and amenities
• Track new facilities entering the market and monitor seasonal pricing shifts
• Submit a monthly competitive summary to the District Manager
Manage Retention and Reduce Churn
• Monitor occupancy trends and identify at-risk units and slips before they go vacant
• Proactively develop and execute churn-reduction strategies in collaboration with leadership
• Identify upsell opportunities to deepen customer relationships and grow revenue per customer
Lead Community Events and Brand Presence
• Plan and execute customer appreciation events, seasonal gatherings, and on-site events
• Represent Outrig at boat shows, fishing tournaments, outdoor expos, and local chamber events
• Build relationships with community organizations that align with our customer base
Own Social Media and Digital Presence
• Maintain an active, professional Facebook presence — regular posts, event announcements, community engagement, and timely responses
• Capture and share content from events, facility highlights, and seasonal updates
• Monitor and respond to reviews and community feedback across social platforms
What You Bring• 3+ years in sales, business development, or account management — preferably in a relationship-driven industry
• Proven ability to build and work a referral network, not just manage accounts handed to you
• Comfortable on the phone and in the field — this is not a desk job
• CRM discipline — you actually log activity, not just promise you will
• Self-directed and accountable — you don’t need to be chased for updates

• Background in marine, RV, outdoor recreation, or self-storage industries
• Existing local relationships with dealers, guides, or marina operators
• Prior experience tracking competitive pricing or conducting market analysis
