Philanthropy Development Officer
Collaborates with management, academic faculty and staff to support Thomas Jefferson University's philanthropic priorities. Maintains an active portfolio of new prospects and existing donors encompassing the full donor cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship. Responsible for meeting defined metrics and goals annually including number of proposals presented and funded, meaningful donor encounters, and dollars raised.
Job Description
Maintain and manage a portfolio and communicate with alumni, donors and friends of Jefferson (phone calls, in-person meetings, emails) in a manner that fosters a relationship that leads to a philanthropic commitment.
Through internal meetings and faculty relationships, develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs and priorities of the various colleges and programs to articulate compelling cases for philanthropic support.
Work with OIA centralized teams such as Communications, Events, Research, Annual Fund, Planned Giving, to advance donor relations. Maintain proactive communications with colleagues to ensure effective collaborations and synergy in achieving key fundraising goals and objectives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Required
2 years experience in frontline fundraising required
2 years experience in frontline fundraising in a healthcare and/or higher education setting preferred
Please note:
This role is responsible for meeting defined metrics and goals annually including number of proposals presented (24 at $2,500+) and funded (10 at $2,500+), meaningful donor encounters (125)
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work from home, but the incumbent must be available for in-person meetings as they arise, and with the ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required
Superior interpersonal skills and a capacity to engage, inspire, and persuade both internal and external constituents.
Experience with database software systems/CRM and Microsoft Office.
