Ready to dive into a role where your design skills can illuminate the vital work of coral reef conservation? We're seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team on a contract basis.
Hourly Rate: $70/hour
Contract Duration: 3 months with potential for extension
Location: Remote
Weekly Hours: Up to 40 hours/week
We are a cutting-edge platform dedicated to the collection and analysis of underwater coral reef data. Our mission is to empower scientists, policymakers, and the public with the insights needed to protect and restore these critical marine ecosystems.
As our Graphic Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping how we communicate our scientific findings and brand identity. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the clarity of our data visualizations and the impact of our public-facing materials.
Scope of Support:
P0 Scientific Data Visualization:

Technical Figuring:

Reimagine and redesign intricate scientific diagrams to boost clarity and aesthetic appeal. A key objective will be to refine the brand's analysis hierarchy, making the progression from observation-level data to sample units and events more intuitive.
Social Data Visuals:

Translate crucial marine health indicators and coral reef data—including biomass and benthic cover metrics—into compelling visuals for social media and other public-facing platforms.

P1 Brand Consistency & Layout Design:

Template Development:

Lead the finalization and rollout of brand-compliant templates hosted on the Brand Portal, empowering our global team to maintain visual consistency.
Asset Modernization:

Conduct an audit and refresh existing technical documentation, such as the Brand Quick Start Guide, to ensure alignment with current brand standards.
Asset Transformation:

Convert content-heavy documentation into high-impact visual formats, including email designs, one-pagers, presentation decks, posters, and datasheets.

Requirements:
Proven experience in building infographics.
Demonstrated ability to tailor graphics for diverse audiences, including internal colleagues, government agencies, and the general public.
Experience in science communication or scientific data visualization, with a knack for transforming complex technical methodologies into intuitive graphics.
Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma.
Familiarity with brand management systems.
This is a W2 role.
