Position Summary
As Associate Director, Communications Design you are the orchestrator of the Communications Plan, overseeing all detail. Working with the Director of Communications Design, you translate the idea approach into a detailed communications architecture and connected plan that the brand will take to market, aligned to strategy and cultural insight. Your role curates every component to create powerful experiences for clients’ brands, leveraging your knowledge of how communications operate in today’s dynamic landscape.

In this role you help manage next‑generation plans across specialty business units, creative partners, strategic audience experts, growth analytics, partnerships, and channel selection. You guide the strategic direction and materialize the idea into a reality, supporting business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Oversee the development of the detailed communications plan to support the idea

Collaborate with the Director of Communications Design to present the holistic approach to stakeholders

Manage day‑to‑day output requirements and workflow for the client in Communications Design

Lead client education programs on Communications Design and marketplace trends

Supervise and train the design team on communications planning fundamentals

Apply best‑practice planning approaches, tools, and techniques to surface media and marketing intelligence for an impactful, culturally rich communications plan across owned, earned, shared, paid (OESP)

Write and manage RFP outputs for the Design discipline, collaborating with Partnerships leads

Contribute to client KPI delivery and specialty business unit growth and profitability

Participate in new business development as required

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in an integrated planning role within media, publisher/vendor, or communications (digital, content)

Ability to delegate and oversee direct reports

Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors

Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills

Strong time‑management and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience

6+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years managing or developing staff

Category or audience experience relevant to assignments

Proven problem‑solving ability

Team collaboration, handling multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines under pressure
