About the role
We are seeking a VP, Account Director to lead key client accounts at a global pharma agency. The role requires establishing senior‑level client relationships, ensuring client success and satisfaction, managing brand profitability, and contributing to new‑business initiatives.

What you’ll do

Own and lead the client’s business within the agency, applying deep marketing strategy knowledge across competitive landscapes, scientific, and regulatory factors.

Develop and maintain senior‑level client relationships as a strategic thinker, problem solver, and effective team leader.

Lead agency teams in annual brand planning and support a strategically focused client/agency team.

Direct and motivate Account Supervisors and Senior Account Executives to deliver client value.

Guide team members’ career paths and skill development through regular feedback.

Manage account financial performance, including productivity and profitability.

Collaborate with the creative team to produce optimal creative products.

Ensure timely issue resolution and cost efficiency.

Propose and supervise client relationship‑building activities.

Develop and refine internal operating procedures with the Project Management Department for greater efficiencies.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with current or prospective clients.

About You

Deep understanding of the pharma/healthcare advertising industry.

Digital marketing acumen and experience leading an integrated agency team in brand planning, budgeting, execution, and measurement.

Proficiency in managing multiple clients and account teams.

Track record of building trusted relationships with senior‑level client management.

Demonstrated success as a strategic partner to clients.

Experience in digital and multi‑channel marketing.

Active participation in new‑business initiatives, including planning and pitch presentations.

Proven ability to identify opportunities and secure organic client growth.

Superior presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint.

12+ years of Brand AOR account experience, including 5+ years in pharmaceutical advertising (preferably unbranded, disease awareness, patient marketing, and education).

5+ years of leadership and supervisory experience.

BA/BS degree required.

Willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
