Role Overview
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for acquisition of new business clients and expansion/retention of existing relationships. The BRM sources, analyzes, structures, negotiates, and closes new business focused on commercial & industrial (C&I) lending, deposits, and treasury management. They develop and execute an effective new business plan, build and grow a client portfolio, assess financial needs, propose client‑centric solutions, and comply with all bank policies and regulations. This role is key to the bank’s growth strategy and offers a competitive base salary and uncapped performance‑based incentive plan.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
65%
Develop new business opportunities by actively prospecting SMEs in the markets served, building, maintaining, and growing a portfolio of C&I clients using the bank’s lending and banking solutions, and engaging in community events and networking activities.

Author credit memos, participate in preflight calls, and leverage strong financial analysis skills in cash flow modeling, identifying key metrics, articulating and mitigating risk in proposing credit solutions.

Collaborate openly and hold joint calls with multiple business lines and product partners.

Develop an in-depth knowledge of bank products and capabilities to effectively recommend appropriate product and service solutions to meet client needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of banking B2B sales experience.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree.

Portfolio Management: overall portfolio management, compliance, and risk; completes accurate and timely credit actions, including periodic reviews, renewals, and modifications; ensures borrower reporting requirements and covenants met; partners with credit administration.
Other: Effective organizational and time management skills; proficiency with computer technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent movement within the office to interact with associates or clients and access office machinery and file cabinets. The position involves constant operation of a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment and includes frequent ongoing travel within the Middle Tennessee market for in‑person visits with prospects, existing clients, partners, and COIs. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
