Choir Director Grades 7-12 - Part-Time at Regents School of Austin Austin, TX

Job Description:

Regents School of Austin seeks a part‑time 7th‑12th Grade Choir Director. The Choir teacher must be a committed Christian who appreciates music and is dedicated to improving our Classical choral program. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills to retain, recruit, and inspire student artists.

Model the fruits of the Spirit in communications, relationships, and daily work.
Demonstrate teachability, a positive attitude, and a willing heart for service.
Embody other‑centered servant‑leadership in all interactions.
Prioritize according to non‑urgent but important matters.
Maintain clear communication channels with students, employees, and parents.
Responsibilities:

Teach in light of classical pedagogy and with backward design.
Prepare the choirs for performances in fall and spring.
Plan a choral music tour every other year.
Use the classroom as an opportunity to disciple students for Christ.
Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred.
Experience shepherding and developing meaningful mentoring relationships with students in middle and high school.
At least three years of relevant classroom experience; experience with classical or Christian education.
Christian maturity that demonstrates a desire to learn and a capacity to create a healthy classroom environment.
Experience in the development of a program in a private school setting.
