Business Development Manager - Drug Discovery
Position Details:

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for sales of Eurofins Discovery portfolio comprising chemistry, pharmacology, and related products and services within the assigned territory or region, with the goal of achieving sales targets for the region.

Proficient understanding of the drug discovery process and selling the portfolio to the U.S. client base.

Prospect for the client persona that requires services or products for use in drug discovery.

Develop and support client relationships through various collaborative approaches, including frequent face‑to‑face meetings.

Provide recommendations and feedback for operational strategy needed to meet client requirements.

Build and document territory and regional business plans that define how sales targets will be accomplished, and update the plan regularly.

Report on competitor activities observed in the region/globally.

Provide monthly reports against key metrics as defined.

Diligently utilize the company CRM, keeping information up to date and complete.

Develop collaborative relationships with senior leaders of Eurofins Discovery to support their business and gain knowledge about the business.

Understand and utilize various resources within Eurofins Discovery to accomplish sales targets.

Maintain a high level of technical and application competence of chemistry services for drug discovery and development, using this knowledge to achieve sales targets.

Promote and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, including 24‑hour response times to customer inquiries.

Work closely and collaboratively with Marketing to design and implement territory and regional strategies that promote the portfolio and the Eurofins Discovery brand.

Utilize sales and marketing channels effectively—including website, e‑commerce, marketplaces—and participate proactively in customer events such as webinars, tradeshows, and customer site events.

Effectively present to clients and internal teams.

Provide feedback and analysis to improve, adjust, and expand the portfolio and marketing strategies.

Travel approximately 30–40% of the time, mostly within the territory.

Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting sales colleagues as needed.

Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience in sales with a strong understanding of drug discovery, particularly discovery chemistry; must reside within the assigned territory.

Minimum education of a B.S. in chemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline. Experience in products and services for drug discovery with excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug discovery and development process.

Experience in the CRO market and proven ability to analyze and act on global business trends to drive regional business development activities.

Strong presentation skills and a collaborative nature to work with multiple internal stakeholders.

Ability to travel internationally in a limited capacity (training and customer audits).

Ability to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.

Salary:

$115,000 – $130,000 per year.
