About InnaSea Media
InnaSea Media is a women-led creative agency helping brands in the seafood, food, and ocean spaces grow with sharper strategy, stronger storytelling, and more effective creative. We’re not a traditional marketing agency, and we’re not interested in doing cookie-cutter work.

We operate more like a Swiss Army knife for brands that want to increase sales, build brand awareness, reach new clientele, and communicate with more clarity and relevance. That can look like messaging strategy, campaign concepts, content development, brand storytelling, thought leadership, launch support, creative direction, or helping a company figure out how to better position itself in a changing market.

Our clients range from challenger brands and legacy seafood companies to sustainability-minded organizations and businesses working across food systems, hospitality, and ocean-related industries. What connects them is a desire to stand out, say something meaningful, and drive real business results.

As our project load grows, we’re looking for a sharp, strategic, and creatively versatile Copywriter to support both client work and internal initiatives.

The Role
We're looking for an experienced Copywriter to join us part-time on a contract basis.

This isn't a "wait for the brief and execute" kind of role. We need someone who can think with us.

The right person is a strong writer, but also a strategic one. Someone who can spot angles, identify opportunities, shape ideas, and understand that good copy is not just about sounding nice, it’s about helping brands connect, differentiate, and convert.

Responsibilities

Write high-quality copy across formats including LinkedIn posts, blog articles, newsletters, website copy, video scripts, recipes, campaign messaging, and more

Contribute ideas proactively, not just execute assignments

Spot trends, flag opportunities, and bring concepts to the table proactively

Write in multiple distinct brand voices across InnaSea and client brands

Provide clear creative direction for graphic design, translating copy intent, hierarchy, and tone into visual guidance

Repurpose and adapt content across platforms and formats

Help shape messaging that supports bigger business goals like brand awareness, audience growth, lead generation, and sales

Manage deadlines independently and communicate clearly about progress, timelines, and blockers

Stay current on conversations across seafood, food, hospitality, sustainability, and digital media, as well as what is actually performing across platforms

Who We’re Looking For

A strong writer with real range across voice, tone, and format

A strategic thinker who understands that copy should support business outcomes, not just fill space

A self-starter who brings ideas, angles, and initiative to the table

Comfortable with technical or scientific subject matter — you don't need a marine biology degree, but complexity can't be your kryptonite

A proactive communicator who keeps people informed without being chased

Someone who understands how copy and visuals work together and can speak that language to a designer

AI tools are welcome in your workflow but brand voice is non-negotiable. Intentional use only. We can tell.

Bonus: Familiarity with seafood, aquaculture, and/or sustainable food systems

The Details

Monthly retainer, commensurate with experience

Approximately 10 hours per week to start, with real potential to grow

Fully remote, async-friendly, flexible hours with clear deadlines and consistent communication

Contract to start, with expanded scope as we grow

Career Growth
This is a chance to build alongside a fast-growing creative agency with deep roots in a meaningful industry. As InnaSea Media expands, there will be potential to take on more responsibility and contribute to larger projects, creating a pathway for career development.

Your resume

A writing portfolio that shows range, not just volume. We want to see that your writing sounds different depending on who it's for. If everything in your portfolio sounds the same, it's a no from us.

When you upload your resume, include a page that answers these four questions:

We work across a lot of formats and brand voices from seafood trade content to sustainability storytelling, consumer-facing social, and more. Tell us who you are and why this kind of work is your kind of work.

We asked for range in your portfolio for a reason. Walk us through what you submitted, what you chose, and why.

What's a content trend, conversation, or cultural moment you've been watching lately and what would you do with it if you had the right brand behind you?

You're onboarding to a brand voice you've never written in before. Walk us through your process. How do you get there, and how do you know when you've landed?

The seafood industry is overdue for better storytelling. We're building the agency that delivers it, and we want the right writer in our corner. Come make waves with us.
