Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Marketing Cloud Developer to lead technical implementations across the Salesforce Marketing ecosystem. This role is primarily focused on Marketing Cloud Engagement with secondary responsibilities in Sales and Service Cloud development (Apex).

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio, combined with proven Apex development skills to cover CRM programming requirements. You will architect complex multi‑channel campaigns, build custom automation solutions, and ensure seamless data flow between Marketing Cloud and core Salesforce platforms.

Core Qualifications
Marketing Cloud Engagement – Core Platform
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on Marketing Cloud Engagement development experience:

Expert‑level Email Studio proficiency: content blocks, dynamic content, sender profiles, delivery profiles, and send classifications

Content Builder mastery: template architecture, content blocks, dynamic content blocks, and asset organization

Journey Builder expertise: multi‑step journeys, entry sources, decision splits, engagement splits, wait activities, and goal tracking

Automation Studio proficiency: SQL query activities, filter activities, data extract, file transfer, import activities, and script activities

Contact Builder: data model design, attribute groups, populations, and data relationships

Mobile Studio experience: SMS campaigns, MobilePush, and GroupConnect (preferred)

Scripting & Development

Advanced AMPscript: personalization, conditional logic, lookups, data extension operations, API calls, and security functions

SQL expertise: complex queries, joins, aggregations, window functions, and performance optimization for large data sets

CloudPages development: landing pages, microsites, preference centers, and form handling

Guide Template Language (GTL) for email and landing page personalization

Data Management & Integration

Data extension design: schema architecture, data relationships, retention policies, and sendable configuration

Marketing Cloud Connect: synchronized data extensions, triggered sends, and CRM integration patterns

REST and SOAP API development: authentication, transactional messaging API, data operations, and webhook handling

Custom Journey Builder activities and triggers

File‑based integrations: SFTP, data extracts, and import automation

Deliverability & Operations

Subscriber management: list hygiene, bounce handling, unsubscribe processing, and compliance (CAN‑SPAM, GDPR, CCPA)

Business unit architecture: multi‑BU setup, shared content, and enterprise account management

Debugging and troubleshooting: tracking extracts, event logs, and error handling patterns

Secondary Qualification
Minimum 3 years of Apex development experience with Sales/Service Cloud:

Apex triggers and classes: bulkification, governor limits, async patterns (Queueable, Batch, Schedulable)

SOQL/SOSL: complex queries, relationship queries, aggregate functions, and query optimization

Flow development: Screen Flows, Record‑Triggered Flows, and invocable Apex integration

Integration development: REST/SOAP callouts, platform events, and external services

Test class development and deployment best practices (Salesforce DX, change sets, CI/CD)

Understanding of Sales Cloud (Leads, Opportunities, Campaigns) and Service Cloud (Cases, Knowledge) data models

Nice to Have Skills
Project experience with Marketing Cloud Growth Edition or Marketing Cloud Advanced Edition are emerging capabilities that are nice to have:

Data Cloud fundamentals: unified customer profiles, data model objects (DMOs), identity resolution, and segmentation

Marketing Cloud Growth/Advanced Edition: Flow‑based journey automation, native CRM integration patterns

Experience Cloud content: forms, landing pages, and CMS‑based marketing assets (replacing CloudPages patterns)

Agentforce for Marketing: AI‑assisted campaign creation, brief generation, and content optimization

Path Experimentation and A/B testing in Flow‑based journeys

Unified Conversations: two‑way SMS/WhatsApp messaging integrated with Service Cloud
