DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a global supply chain utilizing air, ocean, and ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading logistics provider.

Purpose
Lead and manage the Peoria station P&L and operations successfully via:

Engaging people

Growing the business (both local BC business and network business in collaboration with OFR product & DGF global network partners)

Organizing the team for great customer service, operational quality and efficiency incl. GSC collaboration

Managing costs and partners

Key Responsibilities

Manage Station’s EBIT result

Ensure employee engagement, targeting for the best results

Ensure and improve customer satisfaction via Service First incl. process improvements

Drive GoGreen agenda

Deal with local authorities and act as legal representative of the station.

Represent the station towards employees, e.g. organizing company events and serve as go-to person for station personnel on non-functional topics

Decide upon all administrative matters at station.

Lead negotiations with external suppliers.

Accompany Field Sales and Key Account Sales on visits to important clients or prospective clients.

Make hiring decisions at station level (subject to formal approval).

Make functional strategy decisions

Make functional operations decisions (incl. negotiations with external AFR/OFR/Inland logistics suppliers)

Set performance targets

Evaluate performance and target achievement

Ensure adherence to Company policies.

Ensure effective customer service through a process-oriented approach that delivers reliable and consistent service.

Collaborate with OFR product and DGF global network partners

Qualifications

Good understanding of freight forwarding industry

Knowledge of station level administrative matters

Ability to take ownership and drive station solutions independently.

Proven track record in people management role (leadership, motivation and people skill)

Good communication skills

Strong Ocean Freight background seen as major benefit

Reporting Lines

Peoria Station Manager reports directly to Regional VP, Midwest

Pay Range
$150,637.50 - $200,850.00+ (Based on Experience)

Competitive base salary plus role dependent performance-based incentives.
