Content Writer, Move Over Bob Magazine (Contract)
Move Over Bob is a national print magazine that introduces teen girls to women working in the skilled trades, showing what these careers look like and how to get started. Published three times a year and distributed to schools and nonprofits, it uses storytelling and real-world pathways to make the trades feel visible and accessible.

As we expand nationally, we’re building out our editorial team and hiring for two Content Writer roles. Candidates may apply for one or both depending on experience.

1. General Content Writer
This is a structured writing role focused on recurring, templated spreads throughout the magazine.

Responsibilities

Write clear, engaging, on-brand copy for recurring sections

Execute within defined word counts and layout constraints

Ideal Candidate

Clean, concise writer who can adapt to an established voice

Comfortable working within tight parameters and editorial systems

Detail-oriented and responsive to feedback

Able to execute without needing broad creative latitude

2. Feature Content Writer
This role focuses on the human stories and POV pieces that anchor each issue.

Responsibilities

Join founder-led interviews and translate them into narrative features

Write human interest stories and editorial POV pieces

Execute within a defined editorial voice and tone

Ideal Candidate

Strong narrative writer with experience in editorial or longform storytelling

Able to shape compelling stories without inserting their own voice

Comfortable working from interviews and source material

Experience in publication writing preferred
