Position Description
BSU’s English department is looking for writing fellows to support students in ENGL 101 classes. Fellows will meet one‑on‑one with ENGL 101E students in the AAC every week to:

Support students in interpreting the writing prompt and criteria.

Encourage students to plan, develop, and organize their ideas.

Provide feedback on writing with the primary goal of fostering their development as writers, rather than merely maximizing their grade.

Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Excellent writing skills.

Openness to receiving constructive criticism.

Eagerness to work in a team environment.

Initiative and proactivity.

Ability to meet students where they are rather than judging them as deficient.
