Responsibilities

Choose article topics selected from a pool.

Research and write original features.

Pitch article topics to our Editorial team.

Be a dedicated and consistent contributor to the site.

Follow Collider’s general Editorial Guidelines while producing unique and high-quality content.

Produce articles in a timely manner to ensure that the latest industry news and most interesting content are always available to Collider’s loyal readers.

Work under tight deadlines and submit tasks on time.

Have a working knowledge of music and current events.

Competitive compensation.

Remote freelance position to work from a location of your choice.

Experience and Skills

Educational background in journalism or a related field.

2 years of experience in producing entertainment and related content.

In-depth familiarity with and fierce passion for the music industry, especially the latest music.

Experience with SEO practices.

Experience with a custom CMS, preferred.

Familiarity with music marketing, social media virality (TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.)

Experience covering events like Coachella, Lollapalooza, The Grammys, or SXSW.

Connections with insiders and performers, and a history of conducting interviews with artists.

Knowledge of platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp.
