Social Media Intern

Great Escape Parks, New York, NY, USA

Pay: $17.00/hr

Job type: Seasonal

Capture the Fun. Share the Thrills. Be Part of the Magic.
Lights, rides, action! We're looking for a creative, outgoing Summer Seasonal Social Media Intern to help bring the excitement of our amusement and water parks to life online- and on the park floor. If you love creating content, interacting with guests, and being right in the middle of the fun, this is your summer role.

You'll work closely with the Marketing Manager and our Social Media team to capture real-time moments from around the park, while also supporting guest services and character meet-and-greets as part of your daily routine. From ride reactions and splash-zone chaos to high-fives with characters and smiling guests, you'll help show the world what makes our parks unforgettable.

What You'll Do
Content Creation in the Park

Capture photos and videos of rides, attractions, events, food, and guest experiences

Document daily park life‑thrills, laughs, and behind‑the‑scenes moments

Film short‑form video content for social platforms (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)

Assist with basic editing, captions, hashtags, and scheduled posts

Social Media Team Collaboration

Work with the Social Media team to execute content calendars and seasonal campaigns

Coordinate with the Park Manager to highlight special events, promotions, and park updates

Spot trending moments, sounds, and ideas that align with the park's brand

Assist with community engagement by monitoring comments and messages when needed

Guest Services & Character Experiences

Support guest services by assisting guests with questions, directions, and general park information

Participate in character meet‑and‑greets, helping create magical, memorable guest interactions

Capture content during character appearances while ensuring positive guest experiences

Act as a friendly, welcoming presence throughout the park

Creative & On‑Site Storytelling

Move throughout the park to capture authentic, in‑the‑moment content

Help brainstorm creative ideas, challenges, and seasonal storytelling concepts

Assist with influencer visits, special activations, and promotional events

Support ad hoc creative and operational projects as needed

What You Bring

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field

Strong interest in social media, content creation, and guest experience

Comfortable capturing photo and video content using a smartphone or camera

Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms

Basic editing skills (CapCut, Adobe, Canva, or similar tools a plus)

Friendly, energetic personality with strong communication skills

You'll Love This Role If You're...

Equally excited about creating content and interacting with guests

Always spotting moments that would make great social media posts

Comfortable being on your feet and outdoors in a busy park environment

Creative, adaptable, and confident in a fast‑paced, summer setting

Enthusiastic about being on‑site where the fun is happening

Perks of the Park

Paid summer internship (or academic credit, if applicable)

Hands‑on experience in social media, marketing, and guest relations

Mentorship from experienced social media and park operations leaders

Complimentary or discounted park admission and employee perks

A summer job where your "office" includes roller coasters, water slides, and smiling guests

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
