Contract SEO Copywriter

Payrate: $30.00- $39.00/hr. Summary: We are seeking a contract SEO copywriter to support large-scale content development and optimization across TCG player product, set landing and category landing pages. This role will focus on improving organic search performance by enhancing existing content and building scalable processes for ongoing SEO content creation.
Responsibilities:
Backfill and optimize several years of Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon content across Set Landing Pages (SLPs), Product Detail Pages (PDPs), and Category Landing Pages (CLPs) to drive organic search impressions, clicks, and sessions.
Support content development for new product releases while creating a repeatable process that can be transitioned to the internal team.
Improve search rankings for set release and product-related keywords by strengthening on-page SEO and content consistency.
Update and enhance SLPs (last 2–5 years), including meta titles/descriptions, expanded set descriptions, card lists, and key release information leveraging existing content.
Optimize PDPs by writing and refining product descriptions (sealed products) and adding "pro tips" for single cards.
Refresh CLPs and homepage metadata to improve visibility and click-through rates.
Audit and standardize content across legacy catalog pages to ensure consistency and SEO best practices.
Develop and document a scalable SOP for ongoing content creation and optimization for future sets and products.
Requirements:
Proven experience in SEO copywriting, preferably within eCommerce or product-driven environments.
Strong understanding of on-page SEO best practices (metadata, keyword optimization, internal linking, etc.).
Ability to work across large content sets and maintain consistency.
Experience with trading card games (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon) is a plus but not required.
Strong documentation skills and experience building repeatable content processes.
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $30.00- $39.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
