Pay rate: $30.00/hour - $32.25/hour Duration One Year
Work schedule: 5 days (40 hours per week); Hybrid – 3 days a week on-site; Overtime possible
Overview

This role's primary focus is to serve as the communications support for the Streaming and Programming Communication team, in addition to serving as the day-to-day lead for posting content on social media PR accounts on X. Joining a highly collaborative PR team supporting high-profile streaming networks, you will provide crucial support to help plan campaigns, create press lists, pitch press, draft press releases for distribution, and support marketing activations.
Job Specifications

Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role:
Content & Press Releases: Draft and distribute press releases for programming around key cultural events, holidays, anniversaries, genres, and select marketing events.
Media Assets: Draft event invites, post-event communications, and press pitches; route press materials to key internal and external stakeholders.
Social Media Management: Act as day-to-day support for PR social media accounts (@HBOMaxPR)—managing the posting schedule, developing content, drafting copy, and liaising with social teams across the organization.
Tracking & Analytics: Create and maintain coverage trackers and press lists. Track press coverage and industry news to create daily coverage reports and wrap-up summaries.
Competitive Analysis: Generate competitive analysis reports evaluating press coverage trends and positioning across the streaming landscape.
Cross-Functional Liaising: Partner with Media Relations, Marketing, Awards, and Events teams to maintain the department's calendar of upcoming initiatives.
Relationship Building: Establish relationships with up-and-coming press through frequent communication and targeted pitching efforts.
Must Have Skills / Requirements:
Writing Experience: 2+ years of experience writing strategy documents, press releases, or related communications material.
Campaign Organization: 2+ years of experience supporting press campaigns, publicists, launches, or junkets.
Coverage Tracking: 1-2 years of experience tracking press hits, coverage, and synthesizing media trends.
Professional Attributes: Passion for storytelling, curiosity to learn new skills, a strong self-starter mindset, and strict attention to detail under tight deadlines.
Technology Requirements:
Familiarity with Slack.
Proficiency with MS365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, or related field fields required. Previous experience in a communications firm, marketing firm, media company, or technology company is helpful.
Style Guidance: Knowledge of AP Style is a plus.
Additional Notes:
Duration: 1-year contract (Possibility for extension or conversion).

Interview Process: 2 rounds (1st round with the Manager of Streaming Communications; 2nd round with the Hiring Manager via Zoom).
