Summary
Central Dauphin East High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Marching Band Director. This position involves collaborating with the head director to create a positive and enriching musical experience for students in the marching band program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of music education, and a commitment to fostering student growth both musically and personally.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head marching band director in planning and executing rehearsals, performances, and competitions.
- Help develop and implement the marching band curriculum, ensuring it meets educational standards and promotes student engagement.
- Provide individual and group instruction to students in various instruments, focusing on technique, musicality, and performance skills.
- Collaborate with the head director in arranging music and designing drill formations for performances.
- Assist in the coordination of logistics for performances, including travel arrangements, uniforms, and equipment management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding band activities, schedules, and expectations.
- Attend all rehearsals, performances, and meetings as required, contributing to a cohesive and supportive band culture.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with trends in music education.
- Assist in recruiting new members for the marching band program and promoting its benefits within the school community.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in marching band instruction or a similar role, with a strong background in music theory and performance.
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments commonly used in marching bands.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school administration.
- Strong commitment to student development and a passion for music education.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for rehearsals and performances.
- Knowledge of marching band techniques, drill design, and music arrangement is a plus.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
