Job Summary

Coordinate and execute the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program on campus for students and employees; moderate the St. Vincent de Paul Society; collaborate with the Liturgy and Faith Formation area—including the Graduate Assistant for Faith Formation—to run faith‑formation programs; provide support to Daily Mass and the Sunday Night Mass student community; support the area of Liturgy and Faith Formation at regular and special liturgical functions and serve as a member of the Liturgy Committee; directly supervise the Campus Minister for Music Ministry & Faith Formation and the Part‑Time Sunday Music Minister.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute OCIA program on campus for students and employees.
  • Moderate the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
  • Collaborate with the Liturgy and Faith Formation area and the Graduate Assistant for Faith Formation to run faith‑formation programs.
  • Provide support to Daily Mass and Sunday Night Mass student community weekly.
  • Support the area of Liturgy and Faith Formation at regular and special liturgical functions and as a member of the Liturgy Committee.
  • Directly supervise Campus Minister for Music Ministry & Faith Formation and Part‑Time Sunday Music Minister.
  • Be present for all Sunday Night Masses and ensure student and logistical operations are prepared.
  • Check in and brief all liturgical ministers, music ministry, sacristans, and communicate arrangements to the celebrant.
  • Represent Liturgy and Faith Formation to provide feedback on community needs to the Liturgy Committee.
  • Assist at liturgical celebrations and special Masses, coordinating ushers and ensuring participant preparedness.
  • Train student liturgical ministers.
  • Attend select liturgies outside of work hours when needed.
  • Train and support the executive board of St. Vincent de Paul Society.
  • Arrange and support student leaders representing the university at local and national conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with SVDP Rule, Manual, and By‑Laws.
  • Maintain collaboration with SVDPLI and oversee student participation in external events.
  • Assess and explore needs for additional faith‑formation groups or initiatives on campus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment and a church building.

Physical Demands

Occasionally required to stand, move about, sit, carry work, use controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, and communicate. May need to lift or move items up to 10 lb. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Position Type & Hours

Full‑time. Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.; Sunday, 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Longer hours and weekend work may be required.

Travel

Primarily local; may include visits to regional Vincentian‑affiliated sites.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in campus ministry, pastoral ministry, or Catholic young adult education.
  • Some supervision experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s in Theology.
  • 2 years of supervision experience.

Benefits and Compensation

Annual salary range: $71,400. Compensation program and benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, long‑term disability insurance, tuition remission, generous 403(b) employer contribution, employee assistance program, and liberal paid time off policies, plus access to university facilities and services.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $71,400.
