Compensation
The compensation target for this role is: $85,000 – $100,000.

Job Summary
Purple is seeking an Art Director with 6+ years of graphic design experience and 2+ years of management experience. The Art Director will oversee the design side of the creative team and will work on brand and marketing assets. The successful candidate will be part of the Brand Creative Team and will work closely with our cross‑functional partners (Marketing, Retail, Wholesale, etc.).

The ideal candidate is creative, detail‑oriented, organized, and has a strong portfolio filled with performance‑driven design. They understand storytelling through creative and building a brand through design.

Responsibilities

Partner with creative, marketing, and other cross‑functional teams to concept and create best‑in‑class assets for the brand.

Lead designers to develop new ways to communicate brand stories.

Lead in the design of essential brand assets such as packaging, signage, POP, etc.

Support on photoshoots in close collaboration with the Associate Creative Director and external agencies.

Coach & mentor designers on their day‑to‑day work and overall career development.

Maintain and elevate the brand aesthetic across all touchpoints.

Consistently meet project deadlines.

Keep up with trends within the performance marketing industry and mattress and bedding category.

Required Skills

Mastery of Adobe Suite.

Proficiency with Figma.

Ability to understand brand standards and deliver consistent results.

Intentional design aesthetic and strong typographic skills.

Degree in Graphic Design or similar.

Experience creating marketing assets (in‑house preferred).

6‑8 years of graphic design experience.

2‑3 years of people management experience.

Physical Requirements

Physical Activities may occasionally include remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods and adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.

Physical Activities may constantly include communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Environmental Conditions may occasionally include noisy environments.
