We’re hiring a Creative Director / Lead Brand Designer to define and evolve Laurel’s brand at a pivotal moment of scale.
You will shape and evolve Laurel’s brand system across marketing, product touchpoints, sales materials, web, content, and emerging AI surfaces. You will operate strategically and tactically: defining positioning, evolving visual language, and then turning around a launch asset yourself when needed.
You are AI-first. You use generative tools fluently. You think in systems.
Responsibilities
Own and evolve the brand system, including brand strategy, positioning, narrative framing, visual identity, typography, layout, imagery, and brand voice.
Build durable AI-first systems that scale across web, product marketing, sales enablement, and content.
Empower creative and non‑creative team members to create and extend brand assets.
Art‑direct major campaigns and launches (web, video, social, press) and personally design assets for web, blog, sales decks, launch materials, and social media when needed.
Maintain a high quality bar across all outputs.
Operate at both strategic and execution levels, ensuring brand expression aligns with product experience.
Define AI-first brand design by operating at an expert level in image prompting, generative visual workflows, developing repeatable AI pipelines, systematizing production, and pioneering AI in brand storytelling.
Build and manage a flexible creative bench: maintain a strong portfolio of trusted freelancers and creative partners, decide when to DIY or outsource, scope, brief, and manage external collaborators efficiently.
Collaborate deeply with product and marketing teams, supporting sales and marketing with high‑quality materials that elevate perception.
Qualifications
A portfolio showcasing world‑class brand and visual design work you personally executed.
Clear evidence of individual contribution and articulation of art direction for other creatives.
Experience working inside a fast‑moving product startup; bonus points for B2B, SaaS, or professional services.
AI-first design fluency with extensive experience using image or video generation tools or AI-based workflows.
Track record of creating, evolving, and evangelizing visual identity and/or brand systems.
Comfortable working in small, high-performance teams.
