Job Overview
We’re helping our client find a Social Content Editor to own the editing and optimization of social-first content across platforms. In this role, you’ll be responsible for turning raw footage into high-performing, engaging content tailored for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
You’ll play a key role in the content flywheel—editing, optimizing, and refining content that resonates with the target audience while aligning with brand voice, platform best practices, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Edit social-first content with a 24–48 hour turnaround time
Optimize edits for platform-specific algorithms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts)
Transform long‑form content into multiple short, engaging clips
Apply social-first editing techniques including trending audio, hooks, pacing, and visual storytelling
Add captions, motion graphics, and animation layers to enhance engagement
Understand and implement strong opening hooks tailored to each platform
Review and refine UGC scripts and creator briefs before production
Ensure all content aligns with brand voice and guidelines
Collaborate asynchronously with social and brand teams to iterate quickly based on feedback
Maintain consistency with content calendars and agreed SLAs
Ensure all content is compliant with internal standards and applicable marketing or regulatory guidelines
Proofread and polish all social-facing copy (CTAs, captions, hashtags, alt text, etc.)
Identify and suggest trending formats, sounds, and content ideas relevant to the target audience
Apply brand style guidelines consistently across all content
Provide light strategic input on content performance and suggest optimizations
Qualifications
Proven experience editing social-first content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
Strong understanding of platform algorithms, trends, and performance drivers
Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Final Cut, etc.)
Experience working with UGC content and creator-led campaigns
Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and hook creation
Ability to work quickly and meet tight turnaround times (24–48 hours)
Strong attention to detail, including grammar, tone, and brand consistency
Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining consistent voice
Comfortable working asynchronously with remote teams
Bonus: Experience in parenting, wellness, or other regulated industries
