Responsibilities
The
Night Production Supervisor
is responsible for leading all aspects of safety, quality, people development, and production performance on their assigned shift. This role requires a proven people leader with strong manufacturing experience who can drive results through effective coaching, engagement, problem solving, and accountability, while maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
The
Night Production Supervisor
is responsible for all aspects of safety, quality and production on his/her shift. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for the direct supervision and training of hourly employees on his/her shift. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, 40+ hours per week and weekends as required. A Production Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Compliance
Lead by example in practicing and enforcing proper PPE compliance and safe work behaviors
Maintain a strong safety culture; immediately report and address unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries
Ensure compliance with wired plant metrics, forklift operation requirements, and preventive maintenance standards
Promote employee involvement in safety observations and continuous improvement
People Leadership & Development
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management of hourly employees
Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified in safety, quality, and job functions
Build strong employee relationships through effective communication, fairness, and consistency
Manage attendance, discipline, recognition, and corrective actions in alignment with company policies
Develop employee skills and bench strength through training, mentoring, and on‑the‑job development
Foster engagement and accountability while reinforcing ADS Core Values
Production & Workflow Management
Plan, allocate, and manage labor, materials, and equipment to meet daily production schedules
Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies across all production lines
Ensure timely and accurate completion of production, quality, and shift reporting documentation
Expedite product changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime
Maintain housekeeping standards that meet or exceed facility expectations
Quality Assurance
Ensure all products meet ADS and AASHTO quality specifications
Adhere to product sampling schedules and quality documentation requirements
Partner with Quality and Production Management to identify and resolve quality issues
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and workflow issues to meet production needs
Perform minor repairs and adjustments as required
Support and participate in preventive maintenance activities
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and employee performance
Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
Job Skills
Strong people leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to motivate teams and build accountability
Mechanical and process troubleshooting abilities
Solid decision‑making and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment
Working knowledge of extrusion or similar manufacturing processes (ADS experience preferred)
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Basic computer skills (production reporting, data entry, email)
ADS extrusion process knowledge
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
1-2 years experience as ADS line operator or related experience
5-7+ supervisory or lead experience or related experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
Ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
