Summary
Valicy is looking for a Gameplay / Systems Engineer who is responsible for rapidly prototyping, implementing, evaluating, and refining gameplay systems for land‑based gaming products. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, gameplay feel, AI‑assisted development, technical judgment, and practical execution. The ideal candidate can build many possible directions quickly, identify which technical approaches are worth pursuing, and turn strong prototypes into reliable, usable game systems.
This role requires someone who actively uses AI and emerging tools to accelerate implementation, generate scaffolding, test approaches, troubleshoot issues, and move from rough prototype to production‑ready direction with speed and clarity.
Responsibilities
Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.
Prototype gameplay concepts, systems, mechanics, features, and technical approaches quickly.
Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate scaffolding, implementation, iteration, debugging, and documentation.
Evaluate technical approaches based on feasibility, maintainability, performance, production impact, and player experience.
Turn rough ideas into playable prototypes, proof‑of‑concept systems, and implementation‑ready technical direction.
Collaborate with design, art, QA, tools and leadership to move concepts from prototype toward production quality.
Iterate quickly based on feedback, testing, performance results, team review, and changing priorities.
Stay current with emerging AI tools, game engines, frameworks, prototyping methods, and new workflow possibilities.
Identify technical and workflow friction, then proactively suggest or build better approaches.
Maintain a practical balance between speed, quality, clarity, and long‑term usability.
Use AI responsibly and thoughtfully, with awareness of code quality, security, originality, data sensitivity, and production standards.
Requirements
Strong programming fundamentals and practical problem‑solving ability.
Experience building gameplay systems, interactive prototypes, tools, applications, or production software.
Sharp technical judgment with the ability to quickly identify which approaches are worth pursuing, refining, or discarding.
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools as a meaningful part of the development process.
Strong awareness of emerging AI capabilities and a proactive approach to learning and applying new tools.
Ability to make clear technical decisions with incomplete information.
Strong debugging, iteration, and systems‑thinking skills.
Clear communication and documentation skills.
Ability to balance prototype speed, feasibility, complexity, performance, production impact, and player value.
Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment with evolving requirements and undefined processes.

Preferred Requirements
Experience with casino gaming, slot machine development, land‑based gaming, or regulated gaming products.
Experience with Unity, C#, game engines, simulation tools, or rapid prototyping frameworks.
Experience creating custom tools to assist and supercharge your workflow.
Experience working with designers, artists, QA, math, or production teams through a full development cycle.
