POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Manager I - Knees is responsible for managing and participating in a broad range of knee marketing and product management activities to achieve the company's marketing, operational, training, financial, and corporate growth objectives. This role will support the organization in executing deliverables required in the product management & development process. This includes achieving business plan projections, customer relationship management, and education for both surgeons and sales personnel. Interfacing with key stakeholders (external, Franklin-based, and Memphis-based), the Associate Product Manager - Knees shall take all appropriate steps to meet customer and sales force expectations and resolve instrument and implant issues that may arise with their product lines.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, and/or certification in a medical/clinical profession

MBA is a plus

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Biological Science

1-3 years’ experience in product management preferred

Operating room experience, preferably in knee arthroplasty, is preferred

Previous orthopedic or medical device marketing/product management is preferred

Required Skills and Abilities:

Interpersonal communication skills, customer relations, math aptitude, and diplomacy

Organizational management and demonstrated leadership qualities

PC/Microsoft Office software suite, Mac/iOS, general office equipment, orthopedic instruments, automobile, smartphone, and mobile apps

Excellent public speaking and presentation skills

Ability to autonomously execute strategies to achieve marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives

Independent, proactive judgment is employed in problem prevention/solving relating to customers, sales policy, strategy, and procedures

Considerable discretion and judgment are exercised in decision-making across sales policies, product development, surgeon KOL management, marketing, and strategic business planning

Physical Requirements:

Sitting:

Extended periods at a desk or workstation

Occasional movement within the office

Lifting and Carrying:

Light to moderate lifting of office materials and instrumentation up to 30 pounds

Learning Center participation:

standing for prolonged periods, as well as lifting and moving instrument trays up to 25 pounds each

Additional tasks may require reaching, manual dexterity, and visual acuity.

External:

Surgeons, Nurses, PAs, Allied Health Professionals, Hospital / ASC Administrators, Economic Buyers, Industry Society Officers/Staff.

Internal:

Sales Personnel, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, Medical Education, Clinical Research, Finance, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory, Human Resources, and Medacta International Personnel.

Travel requirements:

Up to 60% travel may be required, both domestic and international (Western Europe)

Extent of Confidential Information:

Highly confidential information regarding technology, revenues, budgets, pricing, sales, and marketing strategies, customers, customer preferences, market development, and product development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Plan and manage the lifecycle of a product portfolio (from concept through obsolescence) to meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives

Provide case coverage as needed for NPI and LMR products

Assist the Director in developing, managing, and maintaining the knee product management budget

Assist with promotional strategies, launch materials, sales support tools, and educational aids

Become a procedure and clinical expert on assigned product lines/segments

Develop key metrics to analyze programs and detail the executive management team with information

Forecasting and Budgeting involvement/assistance

Develop and deliver comprehensive and effective training programs by collaborating with fellow PMs, ADs, and M.O.R.E. teams

Work with the respective Director on specific product plans to organize, monitor, and accelerate product / procedural adoption and key account conversions

Support the sales force with in-depth product knowledge and ensure sales representatives, agents/Area Directors, and HCPs are properly informed and trained on Medacta knee products

Create, prepare, and deliver knee product training

Communicate product-related sales support information via regular written or presentational updates

Assist in support for all labs and educational programs

Prepare and sponsor knee-related Needs Assessment documents and budgets

Assist in educating the sales force on regulatory and compliance initiatives

Research, analyze, and remain informed about competitive products

Prepare competitive reviews and create sales aids to assist the sales force

Strengthen and build key customer relationships through on-site meetings, tradeshows, and society meetings

Collect VOC from the core team of customers on a yearly basis (should give insight into commercial plans and feedback to Medacta International)

Work closely with the M.O.R.E. team to continue to enhance and sharpen educational events

Attend ALL MORE training events, set up and breakdown, as well as being the point person for all material needs

Brand Development

Continually provide feedback regarding branding strategy, product positioning, and messaging to complement and accelerate marketing plans (in collaboration with MarComm partners)

Identify, engage, and manage external agencies to deliver services required to support program needs (should be connected to yearly marketing plan)

Social Media focus

Performs other related duties as assigned.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES
Industry Conferences, International Congresses, Domestic and International Company Meetings, and participate in select product management activities. Other duties may be assigned at Medacta USA’s discretion.
