Position Summary
1.0 FTE Elementary Library Media Specialist position.

Salary Range: Per Educator Agreement

Start Date: School Year 2026-2027

Closing Date: 5/26/2026

Work Week: 1.0 FTE

Student Level: Elementary (K-5)

The School Media Specialist provides the leadership and expertise necessary to develop, implement, and maintain an information media program that is aligned with the mission, beliefs, and objectives of the school district and is an integral component of the school's instructional program, a learning commons. They consult and collaborate with staff to instruct students in information and technology literacy standards. They provide leadership and guidance for effectively integrating technologies into instruction. They develop knowledge of curriculum in all subject areas in order to evaluate, select and procure current, accurate and relevant print and digital resources and related equipment. They maintain a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment in which they support students as they design and create their own future. This individual will work collaboratively with other district media specialists. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Elementary Principal.

Education And /or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Teaching or Teaching Related Field.

Degree in Information Media, Library Science or similar.

Special Requirements

Two years classroom teaching or school media experience preferred.

Current Minnesota K-12 Library Media Specialist License Required.

Technology Education Endorsement or Technology Integration Certification preferred.
