Job Description
People Inc is seeking an Associate Director, Marketing to join our Lifestyle team, contributing to the brand and category strategy for our Home/Household, Pet CPG, Auto and Insurance vertical. As a key player in our Lifestyle Marketing vertical, you will collaborate closely with the Vertical Digital Sales Team, Vertical Print Sales Team, and Strategy Account Team to develop and execute category strategies, manage the pre‑sale process, and drive revenue growth with top‑tier advertising partners. This position reports to the Executive Director, Marketing.

This hybrid role is based in NYC or Chicago and requires three days in the office each week. Hybrid 3x a week. In‑office expectations: the position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to our office in New York, the expectation is to work from the office three times per week.

About The Role | The expectations

Lead Proposal Process: Manage proactive and RFP responses, creating smart, strategic ideas for advertising partners in the category vertical

Vertical Strategy: Collaborate across the People Inc portfolio to create sellable opportunities for advertisers grounded in our brand’s most influential franchises and tentpoles

Brand Communication: Lead internal conversations with People Inc brands and verticals to communicate high‑value opportunities to the Sales Teams on a regular basis

Storytelling: Bring ideas to life through well‑written and visually‑appealing proposals that represent our brands, capabilities, and ideas flawlessly

Cross‑Department Communication: Partner closely with Sales, Editorial, Content Strategy, Research, Account Strategy, and Design to ensure proposals and presentations effectively communicate our unique value proposition

Sales Partnership: Develop strong relationships with the Sales Teams to become experts on their business; provide support on client calls as needed

Management: Mentor and manage the workflow of a direct report to ensure their delivering best‑in‑class work for the category vertical

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 6-9 years relevant experience in media, marketing or pre‑sales strategy

Prior experience at a digital publisher strongly preferred

Background in Home/Household, Pet CPG, and/or Auto and Insurance categories is a plus

Strong understanding of the advertising and media landscape, including digital, print, and/or programmatic ecosystems

Advanced expertise in pre‑sale marketing and proposal development, from pitch through close

Exceptional creative writing, storytelling, and presentation skills

Fluency in Keynote and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce visually impactful decks

Ability to remain poised under pressure and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

Proven self‑starter with the ability to proactively identify opportunities and move initiatives forward

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

Pay Range
New York: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses and short‑ and long‑term incentives.
