The APAC AdBiz Group (Cross-Border Business Team) empowers leading Chinese, Korean and other Asian companies to succeed in their Japan and U.S. marketing expansions through SmartNews solutions. In an increasingly complex global marketing landscape - marked by rapidly shifting consumer expectations, diverse market dynamics, and accelerating technological change - our team drives SmartNews ad sales growth by securing cross-border advertisers and agencies while enhancing brand awareness and media prioritization in key industries.
Responsibilities
Research on potential opportunities in China and Korea (and other APAC markets) and develop new local advertisers and agency partners
Deep dive new and diversified opportunities with different vertical advertisers
Enhance business scale with top local advertisers via deepdiving advertisers’ expectations and providing performance enhancement solutions with AM and cross‑function teams
Lead joint business plan development, agency‑level strategy and develop existing agency relationships to facilitate agreements and speed up business growth
Collaborating with Ad Products and other key departments to enhance our products via customer feedback‑sharing and other customer‑related activities
Improve awareness and media priority of Smartnews in local targeting industry via conference attending and other marketing solutions
Develop new and existing advertiser relationships directly and via agencies in Asia market
Gather advertisers’ feedback and deepdive solutions to satisfy local advertisers’ expectations, via collaborations with AM and cross‑function teams
Deep dive new opportunity to supporting cross border business (APAC to JP/US) into diversified targeting vertical
Minimum Requirements
Business‑level and higher proficiency in English and Korean OR Japanese and Korean
5+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, marketing, consulting, or media
3+ years of experience relevant to cross‑border business (APAC→JP)
C‑level relationships across Industries
Proven track record of delivering result
Ability to make frequent business trips for on‑site project management, and ability to carry out new customer acquisition and manage relationships with both new and existing customers
Nice to have experiences/skills
Working experience at a startup
Strong executive presence, with the ability to effectively grow relationships and deepen partnerships achieving large sized sale scale (billions of JPY)
Business‑level and higher proficiency in Chinese or Japanese
Deep insight into industry trends, a strategic vision for growth, and a commitment to advancing SmartNews’s market strategies
