Position Summary
Students employed at the Department of Music will assist with the office, music library, sound booth, care and maintenance of Martin Hall, and various performances requiring unusual hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer the telephone, transfer calls and take accurate messages.
Help visitors by directing them, answering their questions politely and handing out requested literature, etc.
Take care of sorting, posting and delivering outgoing and incoming mail and packages to and from the post office and central receiving once a day.
Assist the Coordinator with office supplies management
Make deliveries around campus, dropping off and picking up materials to and from other departments.
Keep all bulletin boards organized and up to date.
Print and copy programs and other materials as requested or send to Mailroom
Assist with creating and editing promotional materials for concerts and events using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Assist with digital content preperation for department communications (flyers, programs, and promotinoal graphics)
Asssit with maintaining digital files and shared departmental documents within Microsoft 365
Act as sound booth technician for performances Includes lighting, streaming software, and sound board Support livestream or recording set up for concerts and recitals when needed
Make sure that office area is covered when Music Coordinator leaves her desk for any length of time.
Occasional filing as requested.
Act as stagehand for Department of Music recitals and concerts.
Help coordinate receptions or other gatherings.
Help set stage, including setting chairs, risers, stands, and instruments for rehearsals.
Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Experience
Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
Familiarity with livestreaming or basic audio/video equipment preferred.
Experience creating event flyers, programs, and social media graphics preferred.
Interest in music, performing arts production, or arts administration.

Ability to learn a variety of procedures and operational skills for multiple programs/equipment
Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint/OneDrive) preferred.
Some knowledge of basic technical music operations preferred (operating sound equipment, using a video camera, setting up microphones) and willingness to learn the rest.
Basic experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, preferred.
Ability to be discreet in handling confidential matters, while complying with privacy regulations, FERPA.
Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
