Summary:
The Video Monitor Technicianis responsible forcontinuous observation ofassignedpatientsthrougha videomonitoringsystem,ensuring the safety of patients who cannot bedirectlyobservedin person.

Responsibilities:

Observes patients over a video monitoring systemas directed by nursing staff.Maintains visual observation at all timeswithout distraction.Tracks and ensures continuity ofmonitoring.

Maintainsrosterof patients under monitoring and their observation criteria.Alerts nursing staffof patient safety concerns, significant observations, or any noted examples of thedocumentedobservation criteria/ behaviors.

Performs hand-off of patientmonitoringasappropriate duringshift change and breaks.Participates ina collaborativeidentification and reporting of patient safety issues.

Observes andreportspatient information obtained during visual monitoring.Documentspatient activityand/or contact.Answersphonesandnotifies staff of patient requests.

Maintains inventory of andtracks issued equipment.

Demonstratesproficiencyin the use of Video Monitoring Software. Seeks help as soon as possible whenpatient appears to posea threat to themselves or others.

Respects and provides patient confidentiality. Seeks guidance as needed.

Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected andvalidatedby the position's orientation. Use standard precautions and principles of infection control.

Required

High School diploma or equivalentrequired.

Previousexperience in a health care settingpreferred
