Operations Technician- Utility

Position Summary
Days & Hours: depending on work function, must be flexible to work 8 or 10‑hour shifts as assigned. Qualifying Rate - $22.75.

Essential Functions

Completing all phases of core utility work regarding customer service and meter and gas pressure regulator installations.

Conducting leak investigations and responding to emergencies of any nature.

Installing, repairing, and maintaining distribution mains and services.

Operating mechanical equipment.

Other duties as defined by the CBA for the Street/Utility Job Family.

Qualifications
Required Background:

High School Diploma or GED.

All applicants must pass pre‑employment hands‑on assessment.

A valid NJ Driver’s License.

Required Skills:

Must be available for standby responsibilities and emergency work when required.

This is a DOT‑covered position and will be subject to random drug screening. Work location(s) may vary based on language as defined in the CBA.

Compensation Range
Step 1 - $22.75 USD. We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitable compensation for all employees.
