Managing Director – Hollow Metal West Region
The Managing Director is responsible for leading the Hollow Metal Business Unit’s (BU) front-end business functions, including estimating, marketing, product management, and customer engagement in the West region (DCI, Krieger Specialty Products, and Steelcraft West) and partnering closely with the Sales organization. This role ensures that customer requirements are clearly understood, accurately estimated, and effectively transitioned to production and delivery teams. Reporting directly to the General Manager-Hollow Metal, the Managing Director serves as a strategic partner in driving revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance by providing strong thought leadership to the BU, inspiring innovation and influencing excellence. A successful incumbent will build strong relationships with customers, sales and cross‑functional leaders, achieve planned financial and CX targets and objectives, and delight customers with new and refined solutions.

What You Will Do:
Key Responsibilities
Establish and execute the strategy for the front‑end business functions of the Hollow Metal Business Unit in the West region; including estimating, marketing, product management, project management, and customer engagement. Partner closely with ETO and Operations teams to streamline processes and ensure high levels of CX.
Build a strong CX culture, partner closely with Sales to achieve growth targets, and be a change champion in the business environment.
Commercial Strategy Leadership
Develop and implement efficient processes across marketing, estimating, product management, and project management by creating or leveraging existing processes and technologies to maximize productivity.
Preparing and contextualizing business results and adjusting strategy based on KPIs.
Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure commercial performance and forecast revenue.
Lead overall front office value stream between sales/estimating teams, project management and ETO, and production and delivery teams.
Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate costing, pricing, and margin management.
Sales & Business Development
Partner with the sales team in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities in the west region.
Partner with sales to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve growth targets and expand market share in the west region.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, representing the Business Unit (BU) in sales meetings, partnership summit, and external conferences.
Identify patterns among key customer pain points and develop preemptive strategy to mitigate issues.
Estimating & Proposals
Oversee the estimating function to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive proposals.
Standardize estimating processes, tools, and pricing models for consistency and profitability.
Ensure collaboration with operations and engineering teams to align proposals with manufacturing capabilities.
Product & Market Management
Manage product portfolio strategy, including positioning, pricing, and lifecycle management.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform business strategy.
Partner with R&D/engineering to prioritize new product opportunities and enhancements.
Patent, trademark, and compliance management.
People & Leadership
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, IT, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives.
Serve as a key leader in driving organizational change and adoption of new processes, tools, and strategies.
Build and lead cross‑functional teams to execute strategic initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and measurable results.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
8–12+ years of progressive experience in sales, estimating, product management, or commercial leadership, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading cross‑functional teams.
Strong financial acumen with experience in pricing, margin analysis, and forecasting.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
Located in the west region, preferably in the SoCal area.
30% travel required, mainly in the west region.

Compensation:
The expected Base Salary Range: $$205,000 - $240,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
