Overview
Tennessee United Basketball Club is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Director to help us expand our mission and grow our impact across East Tennessee and beyond.
This role is responsible for securing sponsorships, building fundraising opportunities, managing donor relationships, and creating revenue streams that help us continue developing players on and off the court.
We are more than basketball — we are building people, families, and communities through the game.
Responsibilities
- Generate new sponsorships and business partnerships
- Build relationships with local businesses, donors, and community leaders
- Lead fundraising efforts for the Tennessee United Basketball Foundation
- Manage sponsor retention and annual renewals
- Help organize fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement
- Work closely with leadership to support club growth initiatives
- Track outreach, revenue growth, and partnership development
Qualifications
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Sales, fundraising, sponsorship, or business development experience preferred
- Self‑motivated and highly organized
- Ability to work independently in a 1099 contractor role
- Passion for youth development, leadership, and community impact
- Alignment with our mission and values
Compensation
- 1099 Independent Contractor Position
- Monthly commission‑based pay structure
- 15% commission on new revenue generated
- 10% commission on retained/renewed accounts
- Additional bonus opportunities for high performers
