A leading global markets business is seeking an experienced Director - Rates Sales to join its US Sales & Trading team in Stamford, Connecticut.

This is a senior front-office opportunity for a commercially driven rates professional with strong institutional client relationships, deep product knowledge, and the ability to deliver thoughtful, timely market insight across the USD rates landscape.

The successful candidate will play a key role in growing client engagement, increasing wallet share, and delivering rates solutions to institutional clients across a dynamic and fast-moving markets platform.

The Role

As Director - Rates Sales, you will be responsible for covering institutional clients and providing market insight, execution support, and rates product solutions across the US rates market.

You will work closely with trading, structuring, research, strategy, risk, compliance, and client analytics teams to identify opportunities, develop trade ideas, and deliver high-quality service to clients.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong market judgment, excellent relationship management skills, and a proven ability to originate and execute business in a front-office sales environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cover and develop relationships with institutional clients across the US rates market
  • Originate, market, and execute rates products and solutions, including Treasuries, swaps, options, futures, inflation products, and related derivatives
  • Provide clients with timely market color, trade ideas, macro insight, and execution guidance
  • Partner closely with trading desks to deliver pricing, liquidity, and risk management solutions
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue, deepen client relationships, and increase wallet share
  • Work with research, strategy, and analytics teams to support targeted client engagement
  • Maintain strong understanding of Federal Reserve policy, yield curve dynamics, Treasury markets, volatility, liquidity, and macroeconomic drivers
  • Support account planning, client prioritization, pipeline management, and internal reporting
  • Ensure all client activity is conducted in line with regulatory, conduct, risk, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales and trading culture

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced rates salesperson with a strong track record in institutional markets coverage.

You should bring:

  • Significant experience in rates sales, ideally within an investment bank, broker-dealer, or global markets environment
  • Strong knowledge of USD rates products, including Treasuries, swaps, options, futures, and related derivatives
  • Established relationships with institutional clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurers, banks, corporates, or official institutions
  • Proven ability to generate revenue, originate trade ideas, and grow client relationships
  • Strong understanding of macro markets, central bank policy, rates volatility, and client risk management needs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with trading, structuring, research, risk, compliance, operations, and analytics teams
  • High standards of professionalism, judgment, integrity, and conduct
  • Ability to work onsite in Stamford, CT, 5 days per week
