Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence to lead the design, delivery, and enterprise adoption of AI — with a particular emphasis on Agentic AI systems and applied AI delivery at scale. This role sits at the intersection of technical architecture, cross-functional execution, and business transformation. You will report directly to our VP IT and you will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities
Agentic AI & Leadership- Lead the design of end-to-end agentic AI systems — including multi‑agent orchestration, tool‑use frameworks, RAG pipelines, and LLM‑powered workflow automation
- Define AI solution architecture standards across the enterprise along with Enterprise Architecture team, covering model selection, inference infrastructure, vector databases, guardrails, and prompt engineering
- Lead technical evaluation and integration of AI platforms (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) aligned to Honeywell’s cloud‑first architecture
- Ensure architectures are production‑grade: observable, versioned, secure, and aligned to ITAR/CMMC compliance requirements
- Own the AI delivery for Strategic pipeline from ideation to production — managing sprints, milestones, dependencies, and cross‑functional stakeholder alignment
- Lead a team of AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and delivery leads; partner with business to execute sector‑specific AI use cases
- Build and maintain AI project ROI accountability, including hard/soft/strategic value tracking and P10/P50/P90 risk‑adjusted forecasting
- Design and execute enterprise AI adoption programs — including AI training curricula, Citizen AI enablement, and change management frameworks
- Establish adoption KPIs (DAU, use case activation rate, time‑to‑value) and build feedback loops from users back to the AI roadmap
- Champion a responsible AI culture through governance frameworks, bias reviews, explainability standards, and AI literacy programs at all levels
- Collaborate with the AOS Committee to prioritize the enterprise AI portfolio against business value, risk, and strategic fit
- Translate complex AI capabilities into board‑ready narratives; present AI program health, pipeline, and ROI at ALT and leadership forums
- Represent Honeywell Aerospace in industry AI working groups, partner ecosystems, and regulatory engagements
Qualifications
US persons requirement — Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
10+ years of experience in high‑level oversight of engineering and technology teams
Proven experience in leadership roles with a focus on AI strategy and implementation
Strong expertise in machine learning and deep learning technology, specifically with agentic AI
We value- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or another related field
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- Experience with deploying AI models in real‑world, production environments
- Familiarity with industry‑specific applications of AI in relevant domains (e.g., aerospace, manufacturing, automation)
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Attention to detail and excellent problem‑solving capability
