Job title: Senior Marketing and Product Development Manager

Location: New Jersey (On-site / Hybrid flexibility for client visits, trade shows, and supplier meetings)

I am currently partnered exclusively with a leading contract development and manufacturing organization within the Personal Care and Beauty space. We are seeking a talented Product Development & Marketing Manager to drive innovation, commercialization, and client-facing product strategy across a portfolio of global and emerging brands.

This role acts as the bridge between market insight, product innovation, and commercial execution. The successful candidate will partner closely with R&D, formulation, regulatory, operations, sales, and external clients to deliver end-to-end product development programs from concept through launch. You will be responsible for translating consumer trends and client briefs into commercially viable product concepts, while ensuring alignment on timelines, technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and go-to-market strategy.

*This position is on-site with flexibility for travel. Please note this role is not fully remote.

  • 5+ years of experience in product development and/or marketing within Personal Care, Beauty, Cosmetics, or broader CPG environments
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end product lifecycle projects in a client-facing or contract manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of formulation development processes and regulatory frameworks within cosmetics/personal care
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver against tight timelines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Cosmetic Science, or a related field
  • Strong presentation experience with external clients and stakeholders

Specific Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Strong ability to develop product briefs, marketing narratives, and positioning statements
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetics/personal care products
  • Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into product innovation opportunities
  • Experience supporting product testing, sample coordination, and commercialization processes
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market execution and product launch coordination

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development programs from ideation through commercialization
  • Translate client needs and market insights into clear product briefs and development strategies
  • Partner with R&D and formulation teams to guide concept development, prototyping, and iterations
  • Manage end-to-end project timelines including sampling, testing, approvals, and launch readiness
  • Act as a key client-facing contact for product development and marketing discussions
  • Lead product presentations, concept reviews, and innovation pitches with clients
  • Conduct trend, market, and competitive analysis to inform innovation strategy
  • Develop product positioning, messaging frameworks, and marketing support materials
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on feasibility, cost, compliance, and timelines
  • Ensure all products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards prior to launch
  • Support packaging and claims review in collaboration with regulatory and compliance teams
  • Assist commercial teams with go-to-market planning and product launch execution
  • Capture post-launch feedback and insights to feed into future development cycles
  • Identify and mitigate risks across project timelines, quality, and execution
