Director of Sales – LOT Region
Virginia – Georgia Transformer Corporation, the largest and fastest‑growing power transformer manufacturer in the U.S., is seeking a seasoned Director of Sales for the Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas (LOT) Region.
Position Overview
The Director of Sales will be responsible for spearheading all sales activities within the LOT region, including generating new inquiries, securing orders, and nurturing relationships with key customers. This role will involve strategic oversight of the sales process, management of the regional sales team, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver custom‑engineered products and solutions that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the LOT region, leveraging all available channel partners and resources to build a robust inquiry pipeline. Monitor and analyze sales metrics to optimize conversion rates and drive growth.
- Lead and mentor the regional sales team, including Sales Engineers and sales representatives, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, leading major selling and negotiation activities.
- Achieve order booking targets by proactively managing outstanding quotes, adjusting strategies to enhance hit rates while meeting profit margins and plant loading goals.
- Collaborate with internal Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of issues.
- Continuously gather and analyze critical market intelligence, including competitor insights, to inform sales strategies.
- Work with the marketing team to develop compelling sales collateral highlighting the company’s value propositions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7–10 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in Oil & Gas, Commercial & Industrial markets selling transformers.
- Strong knowledge of medium/high voltage electrical equipment, particularly distribution and power transformers.
- Experience working with channel partners such as manufacturer’s representatives, EPCs/contractors, and distributors.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Track record of driving sales growth and managing sales territories.
- Ability to lead remotely and make cold calls.
- Willingness to travel 40–50% of the time.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Residency within Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas.
