Job Description
TD Securities is seeking a senior, results‑driven executive to serve as AVP / Managing Director, Technology Business Operations for TD Securities & Payments Technology. This role is accountable for end‑to‑end Business Operations across the platform and acts as a Chief Operating Officer (COO) partner to the Senior Vice President.
This leader will play a mission‑critical role in strategy execution, operational orchestration, financial governance, workforce planning, and enterprise transformation. The successful candidate will drive structured operating rhythms, clarity of accountability, and disciplined execution across complex, fast‑paced technology and business environments.
Key Qualifications & Capabilities
Executive Business Operations & COO Partnership
- Act as the accountable executive for Business Operations across TD Securities & Payments Technology.
- Serve as COO to the SVP, enabling enterprise‑level orchestration of weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating routines.
- Lead the creation and execution of annual objectives, operating targets, and performance commitments.
- Ensure leaders have clear visibility into accountabilities, dependencies, and deliverables.
Strategy & Planning Services
- Build and lead an organization of trusted advisors embedded within TD Securities & Payments Technology as part of the TDS COO function.
- Ensure consistent collaboration across Global Technology Solutions (GTS), the TDS COO organization, and all supporting business functions.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in executing objectives and strategic priorities.
- Design, standardize, and embed planning routines and decision‑making processes that enable speed, simplicity, and agility.
Drive Transformation Program Activities, Including
- Establishing standards and guidelines for funding
- Defining and enforcing metrics tracking
- Managing funding envelopes
- Implement and communicate the target operating model, governance framework, and competency requirements in partnership with stakeholders.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
- Lead alignment to TDS and GTS processes and performance management frameworks.
- Define and deliver business‑specific metrics and reporting that provide actionable insights for leadership decision‑making.
- Ensure clear linkage between strategy, objectives, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
Resource Management & Forecasting
- Create and maintain a strategic resource management model in collaboration with HR partners.
- Implement workforce strategies that balance growth, sustainability, and target resource mix.
- Drive transitions toward a sustainable full‑time resource complement aligned to long‑term operating needs.
Financial Governance
- Drive financial strategy in partnership with Technology Finance and Segment Finance.
- Ensure integrity, discipline, and transparency in financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and productivity enablement.
- Deliver against annual savings and efficiency targets.
Workforce & Real Estate Management
- Develop and execute a sustainable location strategy leveraging the “POD” methodology.
- Partner closely with the TDS Real Estate Senior Manager to align workforce and real‑estate planning.
Leadership & Enterprise Influence
- Coach, guide, and influence senior leaders on strategy, planning, operating models, and execution implications.
- Drive efficiencies across talent, delivery, diversity, and operating spend.
- Ensure deadlines and commitments are met across groups both within and outside Platforms, Journeys, and Practices (J/P/P).
Shared Responsibilities & Key Partnerships
- Segment Partners: Foster a strong “one‑team” culture across Business Operations, J/P/P teams, Communications, HR, and other support functions.
- Finance Partners: Collaborate closely with TDS and GTS Finance and Business Management teams to enable financial discipline and performance outcomes.
- Technology Partners: Influence and coordinate with I&E, GSD/Protect, Delivery, Strategy, Business Management, and Enterprise Change Management teams across GTS.
- Client Interface: Ensure Product Group Owners and Technology Leadership Teams (TLT) operate with clear accountability and strong execution discipline across leadership interfaces.
Required Experience
Skills, Education & Experience
- University degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of overall professional experience.
- 5+ years of directly related experience in business operations, strategy, or technology‑enabled transformation.
- Deep knowledge of program and project delivery methodologies, including PDLC and TD Agile scaling frameworks.
- Proven planning, execution, and implementation experience across complex initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to apply industry frameworks, tools, and techniques to real‑world execution.
