This role requires an experienced and decisive senior PR practitioner who will be responsible for leading, developing and executing comprehensive and strategic public relations and communication plans for the Dunkin’ brands across the US (national and local). The position is responsible for orchestrating a robust earned media strategy that aligns with the brand’s business objectives and magnifies the brand image and reputation in the rapidly evolving QSR space.

A key element of the role is providing ongoing strategic counsel to advance brand goals through PR, integrating PR data, insights and trends, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior executives, including the President, CMO and VPs. The role is built for strong cross‑functional partnership, ensuring seamless integration of PR strategies with broader business objectives.

The Director will manage two direct reports—a manager of PR and an associate manager of PR—along with managing partnerships with three national PR agencies, twelve local PR agencies and PR budgets.

The ideal candidate works well in a fast‑paced environment, has strong writing skills to capture the brand voice, and has directly supported executive marketing leadership while providing strategic communications guidance to cross‑functional teams.

Location: Based in Canton, MA (Dunkin’/BR Support Center) with frequent visits to Atlanta, GA (Inspire Global Support Center). Will report directly to the VP of Brand PR, with a dotted line to the Dunkin’ CMO.

Salary: $121,100 - $266,420

The salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual placement within this range will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and location.

Responsibilities

Lead the formulation of agile PR content that capitalizes on evolving pop culture trends, while assessing the longevity of each trend to ensure resources are allocated efficiently.

Spearhead the artful crafting of in-depth brand narratives, leveraging feature stories to deepen brand resonance and engagement.

Pioneer a revamp of local earned media strategy, ensuring a steady cadence of activations and a news engine.

Lead, guide, and develop three direct reports, ensuring effective collaboration and achievement of critical business objectives.

Enhance PR measurement strategies and methodologies to capture insightful and actionable data.

Oversee implementation of a new product placement agency for film/TV strategy to continue brand amplification.

Partner with the VP of Brand PR to manage award and brand recognition processes.

Define the overarching strategy for celebrity engagement and partnerships, ensuring seamless integration into marketing campaigns, events, and product launches. Work with legal teams to draft agreements that protect the brand.

Oversee content strategy and amplification efforts for the Dunkin’ newsroom.

Oversee substantial PR budget, ensuring effective allocation and consistently demonstrating return on investment to senior executives.

Build and maintain high‑level relationships with key stakeholders.

Collaborate with and meet regularly with key departmental leaders to integrate PR strategies into broader business plans.

Education Qualification
Minimum: 4+ year degree.

Experience Qualification
Minimum: 15+ years of external communications and/or brand PR, with experience in a corporate or agency environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

Several years of experience working with C‑level leaders as a counselor, offering guidance on communications strategy.

Skilled and versatile writer in various formats, including press releases, media pitches, creative PPT decks, talking points, presentations, communications plans, and newsletters.

Comfortable balancing multiple projects and strategic and tactical work on a daily basis, including brand campaigns, outreach strategies, and agency management.

Ability to work effectively and proactively in a fast‑paced environment.

Proven track record as a strong cross‑functional partner, working with various teams across the brand to develop effective external communications.

Proficiency using MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsive and anticipatory of the needs of leadership and brand team members.

Professional, respectful, and appropriate conduct at all times with the highest integrity.

Travel Required
30% travel – Atlanta visits to Inspire Support Center and domestic travel for PR initiatives.
