The Director, CTV Media Strategy & Activation plays an important role within our Digital Video Media team. He/she will drive strategic planning and activation of all forms of Digital Video with a particular focus on Connected TV campaigns. This individual will be our leading edge for innovation, test-and-learn opportunities and marketplace relationships in the CTV space for the agency and in close partnership with our clients.

What does a Director, CTV Media Strategy & Activation do at Rain the Growth Agency?
Establish strategic direction and account leadership across digital video initiatives

Champion CTV and Digital Video Innovation

Deliver strong industry POVs on ad tech, publisher developments, consumption trends and more

Responsible for shaping the vision and overarching strategy for Digital Video Planning

Act as a thought leader, standardize best practices, and streamline efficiencies & automation

Develop POVs on industry trends related to Digital Video and build senior-level client relationships

Provide leadership across the Digital Video team, including Associate Directors, Supervisors and Specialists

Responsible for account supervision and fostering strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders

Oversee development of effective performance and brand-building strategies specific to digital video

Develop education materials for both internal and external client use, providing the needed information on strategies, partnerships and adoption of ad tech

Responsibilities, functions, and objectives of the position

Partner with the cross-channel planning team and utilize audience tools, historical performance data, scorecards, and best practices specific to the client and industry to identify the best investment allocations within media campaigns

Report on department performance, progress against goals, and future strategies with senior executivesManage digital video processes; ensuring they are current, effective, and adopted across the practice

Align programmatic initiatives with broader marketing and business objectives

Proven fluency in the major DSPs including The Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon, Yahoo and Viant – effectively understanding DSP strengths, areas of improvement and workflows

Ensure quality of work across digital video practices consistently meets Agency’s standards

Lead oversight and adherence to established internal processes and QA workflows for accurate and timely campaign activations

Contribute to Agency Growth

Maintain goals for the department, inclusive of certifications, training, growth opportunities and account assignments (moved from strategic section)

Drive the development of departmental processes, standards, and best practices (moved from responsibilities section)Define the department’s objectives and ensure alignment with the Agency’s mission and goals (moved from responsibilities section)

Discover new ways to leverage our media and ad tech partners, including data targeting, digital video innovation, and platform execution strategies

Identify opportunities for growth and expansion in digital video advertising services

Lead initiatives for departmental growth, including new business development, media & ad tech partnerships and continual internal education and advocacy of digital video

Lead channel specific inputs for business development pitches and act as initial client lead for new account onboarding needs

Maintain oversight of Digital Video – Performance Media POV development

What do we look for in a Director, CTV Media Strategy & Activation at our agency?

Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

8+ years of hands‑on experience, with a focus on digital video planning and activation

Understanding of platform and publisher relationships, data targeting capabilities, buy types and best options to activate digital media

Experience with DSPs, CTV publishers, measurement, currency, trafficking, reporting, and the development of campaign performance insights

Enjoys evaluating data. Ability to review performance data sets, identify critical storylines and communicate accordingly internally and externally

A collaborative spirit and an active interest in mentoring and managing team members

A strong interest in ad tech, digital video trends and innovation

Strong project management skills and high attention to detail
