Radio Technician Boone County Joint Communications
Location: Boone County, MO Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt, benefited Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (with some on-call requirements)
Position Summary
Boone County Joint Communications is hiring a Radio Technician to provide advanced technical support for mission-critical communication systems. This role is essential in ensuring reliable communication for public safety operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced technical support for two-way radio systems
- Maintain and repair: Conventional VHF and UHF base stations, 800 MHz trunking systems, Microwave and radio linking systems
- Support networking and telephony systems
- Program and troubleshoot portable and mobile two-way radios
- Respond to system issues, including after-hours emergencies as required
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more of the following: Working knowledge of networking, Amateur radio license, Associate's degree in electronics or related field, Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license (must be maintained)
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Availability for after-hours emergency response
- Clear criminal record (excluding traffic violations)
- Ability to pass an FBI criminal background check, including national fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications
- General Radiotelephone Operator License
- Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in electronics from an accredited school or college
Compensation
Starting Pay: $24.87 $25.63 per hour Benefits included
