Job Summary
The National Account Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering partnerships and creating growth opportunities between Newell Brands and key customers. This position requires collaboration with Sales Planning, Marketing, and your assigned customer to establish sustainable strategies for business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead account strategies and operating plans to achieve budget goals related to distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing.

Execute annual Innovation Summits, craft Joint Business Plans with customers, and conduct annual Line Reviews at the category level.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customer personnel, enhancing the execution of category plans.

Manage P&L for the assigned account, demonstrating strong financial acumen across various levers, including pricing, allowances, and trade spending.

Provide monthly sales forecasts and engage in supply planning, maintaining awareness of customer metrics such as Fill Rate and In-Stocks.

Participate in Customer Business Reviews, addressing risks and opportunities related to the annual operating plan.

Utilize data and insights to identify market trends and maximize sales and gross margin.

Effectively manage trade spend and collaborate with finance to meet budget targets.

Negotiate trade terms to create mutual value and identify areas for improvement.

Monitor competitors to understand market positioning and shopper trends.

Leverage brand strengths and product offerings to meet profitability goals.

Engage cross-functional teams for the development and execution of business plans that drive customer engagement.

Stay proactive in managing day-to-day interactions with customers and internal teams to track business performance.

Foster strong internal partnerships to meet omni-channel business objectives.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field; MBA preferred.

At least 7 years of direct experience in sales or channel marketing.

Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors is highly preferred.

Strong analytical skills, particularly with syndicated data.

Proven track record in achieving sales growth and managing complex budgets.

Exceptional negotiation skills, fostering positive business collaborations.

Self-sufficient with the ability to identify and propose solutions to challenges.

Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting data effectively.

Organizational and project planning skills are essential.

Proven ability to build relationships within a matrixed organization.

Willingness to travel 20-25% of the time.

The Washington base pay range for this position is from $143,250 to $175,100, based on relevant experience.
