The Marketing Specialist role involves creating content, managing digital and social media presence, developing sales and event content support, project management, strategic initiative support and participating in internal department activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creating content

In collaboration with internal departments, develops/edits/reviews promotional copy for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to ads, website, awards submissions, videos and emails

Supports PR program for department, including news releases and article placements in local and industry publications

Creates and implements an internal communication plan

Digital and Social Media

Edits/provides overall review to content calendar for social media presence, including imagery

Manages SEO/SEM/PPC efforts

Develops email automation streams and workflows including applicable copy

Sales & Event Content Support

Provides trade show support for sales team, including collateral consultation and booth placement options

Works with sales team on case studies and customer testimonials

Creates/updates sales presentations using sales team/management feedback

Internal Department Support

Utilizes and leverages project management skills to work with vendors and internal customers

Writes, edits and reviews applicable marketing department SOPs & upholds brand standards

Contributes to team projects, collaborates with other departments and handles additional responsibilities as assigned

Supports the collection and tracking of department analytics

Strategic Support

Participates in planning, implementation and evaluation of assigned duties per the department strategic plan

Applies customer experience mindset to projects, implementing Voice of the Customer

Supports applicable competitive information, mines data within CRM and drives market research projects with oversight from management

Preferred Qualifications

A passion and strong understanding of the manufacturing industry

Experience marketing to industrial B2B audiences a plus

Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred; Marketo, Pardot, or similar acceptable), or willingness to complete HubSpot certification within first 90 days; basic understanding of CRM and database concepts

Interest in or exposure to account-based marketing (ABM) and demand generation approaches; eagerness to learn campaign planning, intent data, and content syndication — direct experience is a plus but not required

Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including sales; comfort with data-driven decision making and an interest in learning lead handoff, MQL/SQL definitions, and closed-loop reporting

Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaboration, successful partnering and meeting facilitation. You will be working with other business professionals and are expected to convey the value of our product and programs and the culture and beliefs of our company outward to our partners

Advanced level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

BA/BS or equivalent working experience in Marketing, Business, Communications or related experience and/or education

4-6 years of marketing-related experience post-graduation

Travel

Minimal travel between our company locations, Headquarters and Business Innovation Center, both in Waukesha

Occasional travel may be expected, possibly 2-3 times per year, for training/conferences or trade shows

Work Environment

This role is located in a business casual office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm

May occasionally be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, chemical vapors, metal work and loud noise

Some physical activity including lifting, bending and standing for above average amounts of time

Remain in a stationary sitting position for periods of time with the ability to work in a sitting and standing position
