Major Responsibilities and Duties

Assistant Band Director

Assist Band Director in the direction of aspects of the instrumental ensemble program.
Assist in providing band participation at extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, and other community-based activities.
Adhere to rehearsal schedule, performance schedule and protocols.
Coordinate participation at all events.
Facilitate and coordinate with parents and parent organizations.
Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and BOE policies.
Other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
Qualifications

Ability to maintain a positive work environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to produce high-quality music experiences
Passion for student-centered arts education
Committed to continuous program growth and to creating meaningful performance opportunities
Appropriate New Jersey Certification or New Jersey Substitute Certification required
