Account Director, Paid Media
Account Director, Paid Media is a management position accountable for all aspects of assigned clients’ paid media programs. This hybrid role requires working from either the Washington D.C. or New York City office at least three times a week.
Build, grow, and own client relationships to understand their business, meet their needs, and expand the business.
Lead strategic and tactical planning activities and develop, implement, and maintain media plans that deliver against client objectives.
Evaluate recommendations and presentations before client delivery, and maintain quality control on daily workflow and media team processes.
Manage client budgets and timelines; oversee reports and client billing.
Assist in negotiating media contracts and programs to ensure maximum leverage.
Investigate new media opportunities and craft well‑supported, articulate statements of work.
Keep abreast of media and industry trends that impact client business.
Manage and develop a team of direct reports, delegating tasks to maximize productivity and challenge.
Train direct reports in media and marketing disciplines as well as in client business and industry specifics.
Collaborate with the team to set brand strategies and develop media plans.
Evaluate performance of direct reports objectively and constructively.
Assist in training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members and hiring new talent.
Create an environment that encourages intelligent risk‑taking, innovation, and creativity.
Agency Growth and Operations
Drive agency thought leadership and new business by exhibiting ambition.
Participate actively in new business pitches.
Own the financial aspects of the team—profitability by client, staffing needs, etc.
Partner with Media and Finance operations for media billing.
Assist the VP with media operations process and compliance for team members.
Qualifications
8+ years of paid media experience with strong client and team leadership qualities.
Experience planning and buying across online and offline media channels.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of KPI's and attribution.
Proficiency with Google Campaign Manager or other 3rd‑party ad servers.
Experience with media management tools (e.g., Mediaocean).
Salary range
$100,000 – $130,000
Associate, Paid Planning & Buying
The Associate, Paid Planning & Buying is responsible for executing day‑to‑day digital and traditional media planning, buying and client service activities for assigned accounts, with an emphasis on digital media management. This hybrid role works from either the New York City or Washington, D.C. office at least three times a week.
Media Planning/Buying
Review client media briefs and set planning processes in motion.
Create Request for Proposal (RFP) and develop vendor consideration lists that meet brief requirements.
Review vendor RFPs, filter, and compile the most compelling proposals.
Support development of holistic media plan recommendations that deliver on client objectives.
Develop internal or external presentation materials and adapt/finalize based on feedback.
Support financial management by managing campaign pacing and monthly billing processes.
Collaborate with brand or agency creative teams to outline ad specifications and trafficking instructions.
Work with Analytics and Ad Ops teams for digital tagging and reporting requirements.
Assist with campaign reporting activities according to agreed client cadence.
Compile and analyze metrics to optimize media plans, schedules, and make sound recommendations.
Manage campaign execution from start to finish in partnership with the account lead.
Support the needs of the direct manager and media team members.
External Relationship Management
Assist the account lead in maintaining and growing client and internal stakeholder relationships.
Participate in internal and external client meetings and presentations.
Work closely with vendors to develop productive relationships that drive results.
Stay ahead of the latest media marketplace trends and share expertise collaboratively.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build collaborative relationships with clients, team leads, finance, and vendors.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and project management ability.
Media planning and buying experience in one or more of the following mediums: social media, programmatic, digital video, TV, radio digital audio, print, OOH, local media.
Willingness to explore and execute all forms of media.
1 year of experience or relevant internship experience.
Salary range
$52,000 – $55,000
