Field Service Representative

Records readings of watt‑hour meters and associated demand attachments, obtains probed and radio‑frequency data, and performs credit and collection activities. Connects, disconnects, installs, removes, and inspects self‑contained single‑phase watt‑hour meters.

The salary range for this position starts at Step 1 ($29.91) and progresses in accordance with the union contract.

Primary Duties

Collect readings both manually and automatically of watt‑hour and demand meters to complete field meter orders, missed cycle reads or other purposes.

Obtain probed meter and usage data.

Perform credit and collection activities.

Install/remove single‑phase self‑contained watt‑hour meters, including those associated with the sample test program.

Connect/disconnect single‑phase self‑contained watt‑hour meters.

Connect/disconnect A‑base meters.

Seal meters and associated equipment.

Report damage or evidence of tampering with meters or wiring.

Utilize all mainframe computer applications as necessary.

Perform field investigations.

Install and remove recording voltmeters.

Perform monthly meter inventory.

May be asked to perform the duties of an AMR Driver.

Perform other duties as assigned.

May be required to perform storm restoration and emergency assignments.

Requirements
Training and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Prior electric utility experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply electrical theory, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity.

A proven, safe driving record and a Motor Vehicle Operator’s license are required.

Knowledge of geographical area is desirable.

Directed by Meter and Services Supervisor, Working Foreman.
