Summary
The Digital Engagement and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and enacting NARF’s digital communication strategy, in collaboration with the broader Communications team. This position will plan and create innovative digital content to effectively communicate the organization’s mission, priorities, and advocacy efforts across digital platforms, including social media, video, email, digital advertising, NARF’s websites, and other online channels.

Responsibilities

Develop digital outreach strategies that align with NARF’s values and goals, encompassing campaigns, content, and brand tone.

Create engaging online content, including written materials, video, infographics, graphical designs, social media carousels, emails, and other online‑friendly formats.

Translate legal background and facts into social‑friendly, accessible content that moves opinion and drives action.

Grow NARF’s online presence and lead impactful, digital‑first campaigns that move people to act using paid and organic social media and influencer engagement.

Plan and implement strategic digital advertising, monitor results, and adjust approaches accordingly.

Monitor NARF’s digital performance across channels (social media and web analytics) and use insights to improve strategies.

Maintain and develop NARF’s stable of websites in HTML and WordPress, collaborating with the graphic designer.

Experiment with new ways to reach people online.

Act as departmental liaison and Communications champion for assigned Legal/Development teams and projects; attend meetings and identify communication opportunities.

Engage in professional development to stay current on media relations and nonprofit storytelling best practices.

Support secondary responsibilities such as creating content for online and print publications, taking photos of staff and events, managing video content, updating websites, and collaborating across the communications spectrum.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

Supervisory Duties
None.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Media, or related field, preferred.

5+ years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, website development, or public relations, preferably at a nonprofit and/or Tribal organization.

Experience creating and managing content across digital ads, email, and social media channels.

Demonstrated experience creating short‑form video, preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to write clearly, concisely, and logically; expertise in AP style and legal writing preferred.

Efficient work habits meeting deadlines and honoring schedules.

Strong judgment, sensitivity, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work autonomously with high independence.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies, including co‑workers, attorneys, donors, vendors, NARF board of directors, and Tribal leaders.

Highly organized self‑starter comfortable in a fast‑moving organization.

Understanding of Indian Law and Tribal‑U.S. relations preferred.

Familiarity with Native American culture and/or experience working with Tribal Nations or Indigenous Peoples preferred.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; some local and national travel required.

Physical demands include extended sitting, computer use, occasional stooping, standing, carrying, and lifting up to 50lbs with assistance.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range is $106,467 to $125,200 annually. This range is based on five to fifteen plus years of experience in the Denver Metro market. Actual salary will depend on years of experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off (vacation, sick, family, and medical/disability leave), employer contribution to 401(k), group life insurance, accident insurance, and short‑term and long‑term disability insurance.
