Social Media Manager
Los Angeles
Hybrid
We are seeking a Social Media Manager for our client, a Los Angeles–based fine jewelry brand. This is not a traditional social media manager role. It is a hybrid of social strategist, content director, brand voice owner, and creative partner to the founder. The person in this seat owns the full social ecosystem and is responsible for ensuring that what lives across our platforms feels cohesive, intentional, and emotionally aligned with the brand at every level.
Social is both the primary window into the brand and a meaningful driver of the business, contributing directly to brand discovery, audience engagement, and conversion. This role builds the strategy, develops the content, shapes the voice, and partners closely with the founder. It reports to the Head of Brand & Marketing and works in close creative partnership with the Founder.
Core Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
Own the full social ecosystem across Instagram and TikTok as primary platforms
Develop weekly, monthly, and launch-based content strategies, including week-to-date, month-to-date, and campaign-level planning
Build a forward-thinking social roadmap aligned with product drops, brand storytelling, and key business moments
Ensure all social output reflects and reinforces the brand’s identity and perspective while delivering against business goals
Content Development
Concept and lead the development of all social content, including standalone posts and series-based storytelling
Develop content across formats: short and long-form video, carousels, stills, and intimate, in-the-moment, social-native content
Bring forward original, brand-aligned content ideas on a weekly and monthly basis
Translate product, symbolism, and brand narratives into compelling social content
Balance new content creation with thoughtful, intentional use of existing content assets
Social Calendar & Narrative Integration
Own and maintain the full social content calendar
Ensure posts, Reels, and Stories are intentionally paired to create a cohesive narrative
Integrate product launches, evergreen storytelling, and select cultural or brand-relevant moments into a unified presence
Continuously refine the calendar based on performance, product priorities, and brand direction
Founder Content & Creative Direction
Partner closely with the founder to develop social-first content concepts
Write scripts, talking points, and content structures for founder-led video
Bring proactive ideas for how the founder shows up across social platforms
Ensure all founder content feels natural, elevated, and aligned with the brand voice
Brand Voice & Caption Ownership
Own all social captions across platforms
Maintain consistency in tone, language, and emotional resonance
Translate the brand’s identity into clear, compelling, and refined written content
Maintain a strong point of view while avoiding generic or overly promotional language
Social-First Content Capture
Lead the capture of social-first content across founder moments, behind-the-scenes, showroom activations, in-studio storytelling, and lifestyle imagery on a regular cadence
Approach content capture strategically, proposing the concepts, formats, and stories worth capturing before stepping behind the camera
Partner closely with the in-house photographer who leads product imagery and e-commerce, ensuring social capture complements rather than duplicates that work
Extend existing creative into social-first storytelling, adding a layer of intimate, real-world content rather than replacing campaign or e-commerce production
Translate campaign, e-commerce, and editorial shoots into social-first cutdowns, stills, and Reels
Maintain a consistent visual standard across all captured content, with a strong eye for composition, light, and emotional tone
Community Intelligence & Founder Communication
Oversee inbound communication across social platforms at a strategic level
Distill high-volume messages into structured insights, including client sentiment, opportunities, and recurring themes
Apply strong judgment to prioritize the conversations and relationships that matter most, without being pulled into the volume of inbound noise
Provide clear recaps and recommendations on messages requiring founder engagement
Act as a filter so the founder is engaged only in high-impact interactions
Maintain an elevated and thoughtful brand voice in all responses
Influencer & Partnership Strategy
Own influencer and partnership relationships from identification through execution, with a clear point of view on brand alignment, cultural fit, and aesthetic resonance
Build a thoughtful, selective ecosystem of voices that feel emotionally and stylistically aligned with the brand, rather than chasing reach for its own sake
Approach partnerships as long-term relationships to be nurtured, not transactions to be executed
Manage gifting strategies, brand ambassadors, and collaboration opportunities with intention and care
Oversee partnership communications, agreements, and alignment with brand positioning
Performance & Insights
Track and analyze performance across social platforms
Leverage insights to inform content strategy, storytelling direction, and posting cadence
Connect social performance with product performance and broader business outcomes, including Shopify insights
Present clear, high-level recommendations grounded in data
