The Opportunity
909 is building a category-defining functional nutrition company. We formulate clinically dosed products with fully disclosed ingredients, premium sourcing standards, and zero fairy dusting. Every product is built around the 909 Clean Label Standard, whole-food ingredients, branded bioactives, and formulations designed to actually work.
We are pre‑launch, currently in the formulation phase, and preparing for a high‑velocity, subscription‑first DTC launch. The founders include a successful exited entrepreneur and the former CTO/COO of Black Rifle Coffee Company, with prior senior operational and supply chain leadership roles at lululemon and Levi Strauss & Co.
We have the vision and the product architecture.
Now we need the trailblazer to build the machine.
This is not a manage the agency role.
This is a build‑the‑company role.
The Role
You are the founding commercial leader of 909. Your job is to take the brand from pre‑launch to sustainable revenue, owning the full commercial engine: sales velocity, marketing execution, DTC launch, subscriber acquisition, and P&L accountability. The founder owns brand vision. The co‑founder owns supply chain and operations. You own the business.
This is not a marketing role with a budget to spend. It is a business ownership role with a revenue target to hit, a brand to protect, and a subscriber base to build and keep. You will work directly with the founders and set the company's commercial direction from day one.
What You Will Own
P&L Ownership
You own the financial engine post‑launch. That means revenue, margin, and cash flow, not just top‑line numbers. You understand the difference between growth that builds the business and growth that quietly kills it.
- Own contribution margin, CAC payback, blended profitability, and LTV across the full product mix
- Manage the balance between high‑margin electrolyte products, protein rituals, subscriptions, and trial kits
- Flag margin risk early. Protect cash flow while accelerating revenue
- Profitable growth over vanity growth, always
Sales & Marketing Velocity
You build and scale the acquisition engine. You are not just overseeing agencies, you are setting strategy, owning the numbers, and making calls.
- Own paid social (Meta, Google), influencer, and affiliate channels from launch through scale
- Build and optimize landing pages, creative testing frameworks, and campaign cadences (within brand guardrails set by the founder)
- Drive pre‑launch waitlist, founding member acquisition, and Day 1 subscriber volume
- Own the performance marketing budget and MER targets
- Move fast, test constantly, and double down on what works
Subscription & Retention
You own the most important long‑term metric: whether customers stay.
You are responsible for M1–M3 retention, habit formation, churn reduction, onboarding flows, replenishment behavior, and subscription optimization.
We are not building a transactional beverage brand. We are building a daily ritual brand.
Tech Stack Ownership
The co‑founder builds and configures the Shopify + Recharge + Klaviyo ecosystem pre‑launch. Operational ownership transitions to you post‑launch. You operate and grow the stack from there, and you own the funnel top‑to‑bottom: CTR, CAC, LP Conversion, AOV, MER, and LTV.
Team & Vendor Relationships
You recruit and lead performance agencies, creators, freelancers, contractors, and future internal hires. You know how to extract high‑level output from lean teams and maximize every dollar of spend.
You recruit and lead all hires. Founder approves.

Experience
Required
- Proven track record building or scaling a DTC or CPG business from early stage
- Strong subscription business experience and retention economics fluency
- P&L ownership or close proximity with real margin accountability
- Expert‑level Shopify fluency; hands‑on Klaviyo and Recharge or equivalent
- Strong performance marketing instincts and channel ownership experience
- Specific, demonstrable AI workflow fluency
- Ability to work in‑person in Fort Worth
Preferred
- Functional nutrition, supplements, or premium CPG experience
- Experience launching a product in a subscription‑first DTC model
- Familiarity with natural channel retail (Erewhon, Whole Foods, Sprouts)
- Early‑stage operating experience with a lean team
