Storyteller of Change and Belonging Advisor

Under the general supervision of the Building Principal and Activities Director, the Advisor is responsible for providing activity or club programs that instill cooperation, leadership, and direction to all interested students. The advisor develops the annual calendar, plans for the supervision of activities, and performs other duties directly related to this position description.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on staff Evaluation.
Building Principal
This is a nine-month stipend position. Pending the review of school needs and the evaluation process, the term may be extended annually.

Develops a philosophy for student conduct while participating in a club or activity.
Maintains a high-interest, balanced program to meet student needs throughout the year.
Serves as a role model for students.
Interacts in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents
Supervises and assists students effectively.
Promotes good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation.
Establishes dates, times, and places of events for administration approval and placement on the school calendar.
Collaborates with students to set goals for an activity or club.
Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
Schedules, coordinates, and supervises all fundraising projects and follows School Committee Fundraising Policies.
Maintains accurate financial records regarding fundraising activities.
Maintains a working budget and follows appropriate district protocol.
Enforces weekly academic eligibility provided by the administration
Interacts with Administration and presents information as requested.
Arranges necessary transportation and supervision for off-campus events.
Offers leadership and direction to students.
Must demonstrate a record of effectiveness in their own teaching
Must demonstrate and model a positive attitude
Must enjoy working with students
Must be able to collaborate effectively with others
The physical demands of this position include frequent sitting and standing for extended periods. Depending on the class/student assignment, the employee may occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive bending at the waist, kneeling, stooping, and crouching to assist students is also required. Employees may reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
